Robert Garcia was elected to City Council, District 4 in May 2016. H was first sworn in on May 17, 2016. He reelected in May 2019 and May 2022. His current term expires in May, 2025.
Mr. Garcia joined the U.S. Army Reserves while still in high school in Sandusky, Michigan. He graduated in 1992 and attended Baker College of Business. He is a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Ft. Hood, Texas. He has been a resident of Taylor since 1994 and married for more than 27 years to Leslie, who is a life-long resident of Taylor. They have a daughter, Alessandra and a son, Sergio. Mr. Garcia currently works for the City of Austin as a Safety Specialist.
Mr. Garcia is the founder of G21: “Giving in the 21st Century” Car Club. He hosts a monthly car show in downtown Taylor to raise awareness and funds for numerous local organizations in Taylor and the surrounding areas. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, CAPCOG, Our Lady of Guadalupe Committees, and several other municipal organizations in the Taylor community.
