Egret Nuisances

About
Each year, Cattle Egrets begin looking for nesting and breeding heronries in tall trees. When they choose a site in a residential area, this can present problems to homeowners, neighbors and City officials from the noise and damage to the vegetation with their droppings. However, these birds are protected by the Federal Migratory Bird Treat Act which means that these birds and their young (including eggs) and current active nests cannot be killed or destroyed.
