Mitchell Drummond was elected to City Council, District 2 in May 2018 and reelected in May 2021. He was first sworn in at a Council meeting held on May 15, 2018. His current term expires in May 2024.
Council Member Drummond is a Taylor native, now retired, who moved back to the community from Austin after graduating high school.
He earned an Associate's degree from Temple College. He worked as an electrician, and later at the Sandow Power Plant in Rockdale as a lead instrument and control technician. Mr. Drummond enjoys gardening and is a member of Keep Taylor Beautiful. Volunteer work includes being a first aid manager at the Old Settler's Music Fest, and serving on the
on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of East Williamson County.
His wife, Lisa, is a nurse practitioner who works at Lone Star Circle of Care Clinic in Taylor. They together have three sons.
