Brandt Rydell

Brandt Rydell was elected to the District 3 Council position in May 2012, reelected in 2015 and again in May 2018. He was chosen by his fellow Council Members to serve as Mayor in 2017 and 2018.

A Taylor native, he graduated from Taylor High School in 1989. He earned degrees in English and history from the University of Arkansas and received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He is employed as assistant general counsel for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT).

Prior to his election to the council he served five years on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG).  He is also a volunteer for the Mentoring a Pasemann Student (MAPS) program and the Taylor Meals on Wheels.

Mr. Rydell is married to Julie and they have four children.
