Blackland Prairie Days
Every spring, Taylor Main Street hosts Blackland Prairie Days on the first weekend in May. The festival is held in the heart of downtown and features horticultural speakers and demonstrations, arts and crafts vendors, food booths, children’s activities and live entertainment. Blackland Prairie Days is a Taylor Made Texas signature event.
Farmers Market on Main
Taylor Farmers Market on Main in Heritage Square. The Farmers Market is a growers’ market featuring fresh vegetables and fruits, breads, meats, bedding plants and flowers. Other products include hand made arts and craft items. All participants are from Williamson County or the counties adjacent to it and all products must me grown or produced within these boundaries. The goal of the Taylor Farmers’ Market on Main is to support the local food economy while encouraging shoppers and visitors to come to downtown Taylor.
The Market is open every Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm from March 1 to the end of November. Interested farmers/growers/artisans may complete this form to apply for space at the Market:
Main Street Car Show
Each fall, the Main Street Car Show attracts more than 300 vintage, historic and exotic cars, trucks, motorcycles and military vehicles to the streets of Downtown Taylor. This annual event offers a variety of vendors, entertainment, exquisite vehicles and family-friendly fun for all to enjoy. The Main Street Car Show is a Taylor Made Texas signature event.
The Downtown Taylor Swirl is an exciting evening to kick off the holiday season from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of December. This fun event will be held in Historic Downtown Taylor, and typically includes tastings from 6-10 different wineries, food establishments, a tasting glass and wine bag. Food trucks and live music round out the night.
Main Street Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair typically is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 400 Porter St. the first Saturday of December. Booths will be indoors in the City Hall Auditorium and outdoors in the parking lot. Food vendors will be on site. Fees for a booth are $50 for a 10’x10’ space outside, and $75 for a 10’x10’ space inside. Electricity is a $10 fee on a limited supply, first-come, first-served.
