Gerald Anderson was elected to City Council, District 1 on May 2019 and reelected in May 2022. He was first sworn in on May 11, 2019. He has served as the Mayor Pro Tem since November 2020. His current term expires in May 2025.
Mr. Anderson was born and raised in Taylor and is a graduate of Taylor High School Class of 1989. After high school, he attended Huston-Tillotson University. He is the great-nephew of legendary Cowboy Bill Pickett. He is also the executive director of the Bill Pickett Educational Foundation, which does programs on western history and provides community programs for the children of Taylor. He also volunteers at the many great events we have in Taylor.
He is the proud father of a teenage daughter.
