CONSENT AGENDA

(The Consent Agenda includes non-controversial and routine items that the Council may act on with one single vote. The Mayor or a Council member may pull any item from the Consent Agenda in order that the Council discuss and act upon it individually as part of the Regular agenda.)

 

1.      Minutes from July 6, July 13, July 20, and July 25, 2006.  (Susan Brock)

2.      Concur with financials for June, 2006. (Jim Dunaway)


REGULAR AGENDA – REVIEW/DISCUSS & CONSIDER/ACTION

3.      Ad Valorem Tax Rate and 2006-2007 Budget.  (Frank Salvato)

·         Establish upper limit of the ad valorem tax rate and take record vote, to be discussed at a public hearing.

·         Designate the day, time, and place of a public hearing on ad valorem tax rate and 2006-2007 budget

4.      Consider request from St. Mary’s Parent Teacher Club (PTC) for permission to have a car show in Murphy Park. (Frank Salvato; Jarrell Boles)

5.      Consider awarding contract for audit services.  (Jim Dunaway)

6.      Consider amendment to Lease Agreement with Williamson Burnet County Opportunities (WBCO) for property at Ferguson and W. 4th Streets.  (Bob VanTil)

7.      Appoint Citizen’s Advisory Committee to review Council member salaries. (Mayor)

8.      Consider amending Hotel/Motel Tax Agreement with Taylor Chamber of Commerce.  (Frank Salvato)

9.      Consider introducing Ordinance 2006-17, Budget Amendment to create Corporal position in the Police Department.  (Chief Straub; Starla Hall)

10.  Presentation of Main Street Program Annual Report.  (Jean Johnson)

11.  Consider appointment to Board of Health.  (Frank Salvato)

12.  Discuss proposed amendments to Sign Ordinance.  (Bob VanTil)

13.  Executive Session. The Taylor City Council will conduct a closed executive meeting under Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code in order to deliberate regarding acquisition of real property.

14.  Consider action on Executive Session.

The Council may vote and/or act upon each of the items listed in this Agenda.  The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda, whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.  I certify that the notice of meeting was posted in the Taylor City Hall Lobby before 6:00 pm on August 7, 2006 and remained posted for at least 72 continuous hours before the scheduled time of said meeting.  I further certify that the following news media was notified of this meeting:  Taylor Daily Press.
