CONSENT AGENDA

(The Consent Agenda includes non-controversial and routine items that the Council may act on with one single vote.  The Mayor or any Council member may pull any item from the Consent Agenda to discuss and act upon individually on the Regular Agenda.)

 

  1. Minutes for April 7, April 9, April 14, and April 17, 2009.  (Susan Brock)

2.      Concur with preliminary financials for March, 2009.  (Rosemarie Dennis)

 

REGULAR AGENDA; REVIEW/DISCUSS AND CONSIDER ACTION

 

  1. Proclamation:  National Train Day, May 9, 2009.  (Mayor)
  2. Proclamation:  May as National Historic Preservation Month. (Mayor)
  3. Consider sending congratulatory letter to Judge Judy Hobbs as Judge of the Year by the Central Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association (CTJPCA).  (Mayor)
  4. Consider and review method of wastewater averaging during drought conditions.  (Rosemarie Dennis)
  5. Conduct Public Meeting to begin 30 day comment period on recommendations from the Street and Facilities Naming Committee to name or rename city streets.  (John Elsden)
  6. Consider introducing Ordinance 2009-13 amending the Fee Ordinance establishing fees for the 2009 Swim Season. (Bob vanTil)
  7. Consider selecting firm for capital campaign/fundraising for the Taylor Regional Park and Sports Complex.  (Jim Dunaway)
  8. Consider approving Resolution R09-12 adopting a water conservation plan.  (Danny Thomas)
  9. Consider appointments to the Taylor Economic Development Corporation (TEDC).  (Mayor)
  10. Consider appointment to Library Advisory Board.  (Karen Ellis; Mayor)

13.  Executive Session I.  The Taylor City Council will conduct a closed executive meeting pursuant to the provisions of the Open Meetings Law, Chapter 551, Government Code, and the authority contained in Section 551.087 to discuss or deliberate regarding commercial and/or financial information on a business prospect that the City of Taylor, Texas, seeks to have locate, stay, or expand in or near the City of Taylor, Texas, and with which the City of Taylor, Texas, is conducting economic development negotiations and/or deliberate the offer of financial or other incentives to the business prospect.

  1. Executive Session II.  The Taylor City Council will conduct a closed executive meeting under Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code in order to meet with it’s City Attorney on a matter in which the duty of the Attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas authorize and allow such a closed meeting and which Rules conflict with the Texas Open Meetings Act.  
  2. Consider action from Executive Session I or II.

ADJOURN

The Council may vote and/or act upon each of the items listed in this Agenda.  The Council reserves the right to retire into executive session concerning any of the items listed on this Agenda, whenever it is considered necessary and legally justified under the Open Meetings Act.  I certify that the notice of meeting was posted in the Taylor City Hall Lobby before 6:00 pm on April 24, 2009 and remained posted for at least 72 hours continuously before the scheduled time of said meeting.  I further certify that the following news media was notified of this meeting:  Taylor Daily Press.
