To aid citizens with disposal of used, live holiday trees, the City of Taylor has set up a recycling location for tree drop-off. The site is open 24 hours a day at 303 Airport Road, north of the main entrance to the Taylor Municipal Airport. Artificial trees may not be left at the recycle site.
Trees should have all decorations removed from them before being dropped off, according to Brett Bachmeyer of the Public Works Department.
“The site is located about half-way from Highway 79 and half-way from the Loop,” Bachmeyer said. The trees disposed of will regularly be cut using a chipping machine, he added.
The site will be open through Wednesday, January 31.
