Train derailment in City of Taylor; no injuries or hazardous materials involved

TAYLOR, Texas – At 5 a.m. this morning a Union Pacific train derailed in the yard in the City of Taylor.
Several cars are on their side and both main lines are blocked. No injuries were reported, no hazardous
materials were released and there is no threat to the community. Several railroad crossings in the area
have been blocked, but Union Pacific is currently working on breaking the train to free up the crossings.
Union Pacific will provide updates as the situation resolves. Union Pacific and the City of Taylor request that
the public stay away from the incident area while they work to resolve the situation. For additional
