Brandt Rydell was elected to the District 3 Council position in May, 2012. A Taylor native, he graduated from Taylor High School in 1989. He earned degrees in English and history from the University of Arkansas and received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He currently serves as the assistant general counsel for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT). Prior to his election to the council he served five years on the Planning and Zoning Commission. He is a board member of both the Taylor Conservation and Heritage Society and Project LOOP. He is also a volunteer for the Mentoring a Pasemann Student (MAPS) program and the Taylor Meals on Wheels. Mr. Rydell is married to Julie and they have four children.
