LEAD Taylor is a partnership between the City of Taylor, the Greater Taylor Chamber of Commerce, and the Taylor Economic Development Corporation with a mission to equip leaders to usher in the future of Taylor.

Class Information

The City of Taylor is recruiting engaged citizens who want to learn more about their city for the 2026 LEAD Taylor program. The program is changing this year. This new 9-session course will take you on a journey of personal development and understanding your community. Hear from industry, education, nonprofits, local government, state government, and more as we equip you to help usher in the future of Taylor. Applications are being considered through December 31.

The first class will begin on Wednesday, January 21, 2026

The 2026 class schedule will consist of a total of nine seven-hour classes offered monthly from January through September. The Class of 2026 will include personal and professional development, Local Government Day, Education Day, Industry Day, Economy Day, Nonprofit and Healthcare Day, Quality of Life and History Day, and Public Safety Day. Each session will be packed with information, activities, tours, and challenging discussions.

Participants who attend at least 7 of the 9 courses will graduate from the program on September 24, 2026.

To qualify for the program, applicants must reside in the City of Taylor, work in the City of Taylor, or own property in the City of Taylor. They must be able to commit to attend all 9 classes. Participants must not be running for political office during the class.

Employers

We are looking for employers who will sponsor an employee to attend the program. They will receive recognition here on our website, in the powerpoint slides presented to the class, in advertisements for the class, and at graduation. To become an employer sponsor, your employee must be offered time off to attend the course in addition to the regular paid time off that they earn. In other words, they should be allowed to attend without taking their accumulated paid time off hours.
